Location: Mississauga

Our manufacturing client, is seeking a VP Finance/CFO to lead their finance team and be responsible for all accounting and finance functions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and hands-on participation in all aspects of the accounting and finance functions including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, development, implementation, and management of detailed forecasts and project specific P&L monitoring.
  • Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include: budgeting, tax planning, and conservation of assets.
  • Perform monthly closings and prepare financial statements on a monthly basis.
  • Establish, implement, monitor and enforce proper internal controls for purchasing, collections, and payments.
  • Dynamically manage cash flow on a day-to-day basis with customers and vendors.
  • Prepare and present monthly P&L and cash flow forecasts to the management team.
  • Monitor and continue to develop KPI, metrics and management reports to guide senior management team in business decisions.
  • Oversee the approval and processing of: revenue, expenditure/position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial reports, special analyses, and information reports. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
  • Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.

 

Qualifications:

  • CPA, CA with a proven track record as VP Finance /CFO with 10+ years in a progressive management role; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills and ability to work with all levels within the organization.
  • Hands on and “roll up your sleeves” individual.
  • Strong process and technical accounting skills with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience partnering with an executive team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel across Canada.
