Vice-President, IT


Location: Toronto (Downtown)

Reporting to the CEO, this position is critical to the ongoing streamlining of processes and continuous improvement of all technology related matters.  This position manages and oversees the groups responsible for software, hardware, communication systems/devices and networks. This position is also responsible for system controls and governance, and for making recommendations regarding strategic information system development, planning and resource utilization.



  • Maximize the efficient and effective use of the ERP across the organization (accounting, finance, operations, development, HR, etc.)
  • Plan, control and evaluate the operations of information systems infrastructure
  • Provide solutions to automate core business processes to manage risk, ensure regulatory compliance and improve the timeliness of reporting
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating systems
  • Ensure that an appropriate system of backups and archiving is in place
  • Provide recommendations regarding accessing information and IT support
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
  • Maintain documentation of all systems and applications including a log of required repairs and maintenance
  • Provide disaster recovery plans and ensure they are updated as appropriate
  • Consult with stakeholders in the organization regarding potential uses for existing technology



  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, or equivalent combination of other university degree and IT experience
  • Financial Services experience a must (preferably on the Credit side)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive IT position
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with a demonstrated client-centered focus
  • Effective communication skills
  • Skilled in project management and able to manage multiple priorities while still delivering to deadlines
  • Strong analytical capability along with creative problem solving and effective decision-making skills
  • Complex systems development and planning
