IT Project Manager

Location: Toronto (Downtown)

 

Our client is looking for someone who is passionate about planning, leading and executing the full project management lifecycle. Reporting to the Director, Project Management, working with clients across several verticals at all levels of seniority to develop project scope of work documents and project plans.

 

Identify resource requirements, set measurable KPI’s and ensure quality is maintained during the delivery phase of all projects while ensuring effective communication and positive relationships are built between client and project teams.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead IT application developments, improvements or infrastructure projects with client’s partners and technical teams
  • Oversee project execution, budget, deliverables and manage expectations
  • Communicate project progress with sponsors, leads, management, and executives
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, budget trackers and resourcing
  • Ensure that delivery is within expected guidelines of the scope of work and is completed on within client and project team expectations
  • Identify risks and develop effective mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with leads and to coordinate dependencies across projects
  • Monitor, identify, and communicate issues, change requests and budget variances
  • Partners with key resources, identify and communicate the appropriate technical approach
  • Manage the process; development of a strategic plan, systems analysis, technical design, coding, testing and acceptance of an IT system
  • When required, help support the business development team by contributing to Requests for Proposals (RFP)

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field or equivalent training and experience
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) an asset
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to tailor communication styles to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to effectively influence, interact and collaborate with senior level management
  • Prepare and present technical reports and project presentations
  • Demonstrated experience leading the implementation and support of information technology projects, with the strong negotiating, influencing, and conflict resolution skills
  • Be able to build, develop, motivate and oversee multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of systems development lifecycle (SDLC), ITIL practices, agile, iterative and Waterfall methodologies
  • Interpersonal oral and written communication skills, building partnerships, attain consensus and cultivate effective working relationships with internal partners, clients and other stakeholders
  • Decisive and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate risk and present effective solutions
