The Director/VP of Marketing, reporting to the CEO, will primarily be responsible to develop, manage, and execute an annual strategic marketing and communications plan. This position will develop and oversee the promotion of branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives and oversee product management. This role will also evaluate the success of various communication strategies and provide and implement recommendations for improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop, manage, and execute an annual strategic marketing and communications plan
  • Develop and oversee the promotion of branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives
  • Evaluate the success of various communication/marketing strategies, and provide and implement recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and implement both short- and long-term tactical and strategic plans in accordance with business goals and objectives
  • Oversee the development and supervision of all marketing and communications strategies
  • Lead strategy development for key project proposals to prospective clients
  • Initiate research, development, and the implementation of new marketing programs, including direct mail, corporate sales, social media marketing, conventions, workshops, advertisements, sales tools, and other initiatives
  • Maximize brand value through the development of ancillary revenue streams and new opportunities
  • Communicate and negotiate with promotional partners as needed for joint marketing activities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic business partners and key stakeholders as it pertains to marketing and product development
  • Participate in contract negotiations and maintain ongoing relationships with a variety of vendors
  • Evaluate current business strategies, determining viability of changing management initiatives
  • Develop and uphold the company’s mission, vision, and values

 

Qualifications:

 

  • MBA or an advanced degree in an industry-appropriate field such as marketing, advertising, sales, or business administration or equivalent progressive experience in a marketing management role
  • Ten years of progressive experience in a marketing management role
  • Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand-building and brand management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Breadth of working knowledge and past experience in marketing with print and web-based media
  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate the end-to-end marketing process while meeting deadlines and budget requirements
  • Experience with strategic development and initiative-based project leadership
  • Experience with product management
